Avenged and Disturbed equally KILLED!
The Jagermeister stage greeted us with many bands upon entering the venue. Airbourne and Hellyeah were both impressive. The show truly began after the main stage opened. Halestorm started, showcasing their strong drummer and vocalist. Stone Sour's Corey Taylor followed with great energy and a strong voice. I did think that Corey's mic volume could have been louder, making it difficult to hear him over the other musicians at times.
Avenged took the stage next, starting their setlist with "Nightmare" under a dark venue lit by blue moonlight. They also played tracks from City of Evil, their self-titled album, and some new material. Unholy Confessions was not forgotten. The stage featured great lighting and pyrotechnics, with changing backdrops for each song. Their performance was energetic yet somber and emotional, referencing Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan's recent passing. My highest expectations were exceeded!
The night closed with The 90's Tour, and WOW, they did not hold back. Dave's strong voice was consistent, and the video board on stage was entertaining. Pyrotechnics added to the show. Their setlist spanned from older tracks to newer ones from Asylum. They covered their entire musical portfolio and left no disappointment.
I eagerly anticipate experiencing more performances from these incredible artists again!
